この中文大学の総合教育棟には、誇張された、またはわざとらしい外観造形は見られない。

しかし、理性が秘められた内部には、多元的で、生き生きとした、しかし実用性は失われていない様々な空間がある。

その空間とは、2階分の高さがある玄関口、高い部分にある学生用の中庭、フレキシブルな変化が可能な展示場所、明るく開けた景観の屋上緑化部分等である。

質素で丈夫な建材、適度な自然採光、具合よく制御された空間の比率、それらすべてが、この建物に濃厚な文化的・学術的ムードを与えている。

この建物を基地とする建築学部は、これらによって得難いコミュニティの雰囲気が醸成され、教師と学生の交流やコミュニケーションの促進に役立っている。

CUHK, Hong Kongの概要This project was a purposely designed building for the School of Architecture,The Chinese University of Hong Kong,which was initiated by the University as a 2-staged invited international design competition in summer 2008. Since its opening in September of 2012,the project has been awarded for the following prizes: -Hong Kong Institute of Architects(HKIA) Annual Award 2012, HKIA Merit Award of Hong Kong-Community Building, -FuturArc Green Leadership Award 2013,Institutional Architecture, -Perspective Award 2013-Architecture (Professional) Institutional/Public Space-Certificate of Excellence

CUHK, Hong Kongの開発・企画についてMajor design concept is manifested by a key spatial-programmatic planning strategy:the creation of a folding Common Ground within an Atrium,becoming the heart of the School.The multi-storey platforms and link bridges created an open,flexible and permeable space promoting different uses and configurations.It becomes the central space of school life and created a sense of community under one roof.

CUHK, Hong Kongはその使用者・利用者にどのような価値を実現したかUnlike the process of product design,this architectural project does not create something unprecedentedly new or original.The physical making of the building can be understood as a specified way of constructing and assembling materials and industrial products produced by manufacturers in the industry.It is interesting to note that while the key spatial and planning concept was first conceived and formulated by the design architect,the fine design layout,potential relationship between space arrangements and human activities are evolved through an interactive process of many design workshops between students,teachers and the architect.This have made the architecture,from its planning to details,original or uniquely specific to the use pattern,growth plan,culture and values of the School.
ユーザーの使いやすさや商品の親切さの向上のためにデザインが特に取り組んだ事項We aim to create a unique and appropriate stimulating environment for architecture learning.This project is also an experiment to innovatively explore design with the most recent environmental technologies and test how they inform design of building from planning to details.We can review how these design decisions,after being implemented,stand to be verified against performance assessments.
